I was looking at my site the other day and realized that my site was missing something very important, content. My site has almost no content at all, so I have taken the time for this learning report to put up some pictures about me that defines the kind of person that I am. Now, the most important part of this process is that the pictures are all small in size, and have css coding that make them stand out.
I spent a lot of time trying to decide just how I wanted my pictures to look, and how I should go about trying to make them look that way. So like I have done many times, I decided that I should start with W3 Schools. Of all of the content on their site, there was two principles that caught my eye- Image Transparency and Image Gallery.
With Image Gallery, I could have an assortment of images that would light up when the mouse went over them. I worked endlessly to get my four pictures looking exactly like I wanted. I tried at least ten different css combinations before I was successful in getting the layout that looked best on my site.
The last thing that I put in was Image Transparency, which has a really nice effect. It takes your image and makes it somewhat transparent (percentage controlled by you). This code also allows for mouse-over affects, which is also controlled by you. When combined with the Image Gallery coding, it creates a gallery of images that really stand out when you mouse over them.
Feel free to take a look at my About Me page to look at my wonderful creation. The link is in my navigation bar at the top.
